I’m Maggie Hall — a self-taught, Canadian artist raised on pop culture, mass media, and material madness.
Everything I make is part love letter, part roast. It’s a high-low celebration of what we consume and what consumes us. It is drenched in saturated colour, laced with humour, and always a little dangerous. I built my practice by ignoring the rules and following my curiosity - mixing old-school craftsmanship with my maximalist instinct, turning the volume all the way up.
My work lives in a space of collision: hyperrealist paintings of Barbie shoes and Hawkins Cheezies, velvet-flocked concrete sculptures and and juicy CMKY paintings with raised dots that you’re not just allowed - but encouraged - to touch. I’m all about capturing the glittering chaos of the world: the nostalgia, the obsession, the absurdity of it all.
I’m not here to fit inside someone else’s frame.
I’m here to build my own - Vast, Bombastic, and entirely derivative.
Love, Maggie Hall
